The 2198-D032-ERS3 width is 85 mm with dimensions of 9.92 x 3.35 x 17.0 inches or 252 x 85 x 433 mm. It approximately weighs 14.9 lbs or 6.76 kg. This drive supports zero stacking installation wherein, minimum to little space is required when installing the drive along another drive or component. This zero stacking method significantly simplifies design of the enclosure and reduces wiring, space requirement and installation costs.

The 2198-D032-ERS3 comes with integrated functional safety support. This feature is aligned with the integrated safety over ethernet I/P network. Specific safety function that can be configured with this Kinetix drive are Drive based Stopping function with using safety function Timed Safe Stop 1 (SS1) and integrated STO mode using the Safe Torque-off (STO) safety function. To implement these integrated safety, this kinetix drive must be controlled using the GuardLogix 5580 and CompactLogix 5380 for Time Safe Stop 1 and ControlLogix 5570 or CompactLogix 5370 for Integrated STO mode.

Its Dual Ethernet ports provide support for both linear and device level ring (DLR) topologies. It uses single wire for tuning which simplifies installation and saving space. The 2198-D032-ERS3 drive has a module width of 55mm. It has dimensions of 9.92 x 2.17 x 14.09 in. and weighs 9.17 lbs. It has continuous and peak output currents of 13A and 32.5A at RMS (root mean square) values and 18.3A and 45.9A at 0 peak values respectively. The continuous power output at 324-528V RMS, three-phase is 8.9 kW. It has PWM frequency of 4 kHz and internal capacitance of 390 µF. The 2198-D032-ERS3 servo drive has a simple, powerful, and compact design for machines requiring large axis counts and higher power. The drive has an integrated motion and safety feature via the EtherNet/IP network facilitating its use in large machines.
